Special thanks to Henry Koretzky for the referral for this - St. Thomas Roaster's is a wonderful little shop in Linglestown, right by Harrisburg. Been there a couple times to hear Henry and KJ; good people, and a good venue with a strong sense of community. It just don't get much better than that. Try the tanzanian peaberry coffee - I think it might actually be a bit better than my beloved roast from The Cheese Shoppe in State College.

I'm always happy to play at West Kish, quite possibly the best audience around... West Kish has been around for a decade now, and I'm pleased to have been one of the first performers from "over the mountain" to have played there. I'll split the evening with Hannah Bingman. We'll each do about an hour long set. Look for some singalongs and maybe even a banjo tune or two.

Something new for Arts Festival... a musical "fill in" near the Willard Building on campus. I'm pleased that my friend Susan Bowser will be joining me on fiddle. If you've always wondered what a Scandanavian fiddle tune would sound like if I accompanied it on guitar, dude, here's your chance to find out. NOTE: my original contract said Friday; actual day we're playing is Saturday.

I'm happy to say I'm a finalist in the 2010 Rose Garden Coffeehouse songwriting competition. Given some of my favorite songwriters have been here, too -- Jud Caswell, Joe Crookston, Jenny Goodspeed, Dave Potts -- I can say with all sincerity I'm just happy to have made it this far. I've heard nothing but good things about the Rose Garden from people who have played or been audience there, and I'm very much looking forward to the experience. The songs I entered were Boattail Riviera and Clemente, both recorded at Frigo Studios. Clemente will make it to the CD; I'll be revisiting Boattail for it - this was pretty much a recording done solely to enter the contest. So if you're in the vicinity of Mansfield, MA on May 15, come out and listen! April Verch is the headliner that night, so I can guarantee it's going to be an evening of great music!

I will be part of the Generoo Guitar workshops again this year, teaching Capo Techniques and co-hosting the Songwriting workshop with the oh-so-talented Hannah Bingman. This was a blast last year, the Generoo folks are wonderful people and it's my pleasure to be a part of this event again.
I'll be doing a short opening set before Buffalo's favorite Folk-son, Greg Klyma, takes the stage...so pass the beef on weck and come enjoy some tunes!
